Infectious Disease Surveillance and Control Project (IDSCP)

Project End:The project was extended up to December 2004

Malaria, dengue fever and TB remain on top of the list of major health threats claiming the lives of many Filipinos yearly. IDSCP has four components:

Program Service Monitoring supports the collection of program service monitoring information as needed at the national level. Management information from the Enhanced Programme on Immunization (EPI), Tuberculosis Directly Observed Short Course Therapy (DOTS) program, prenatal and maternal care program, and family planning are also included.

Field Surveillance System supports the notifiable disease and syndrome reporting required to adequately identify public health outcomes of interest and to respond in a timely manner.

Local Government Unit Profile provides information on health facilities, the healthcare workforce, household sanitation, natality, mortality, and the top ten causes of morbidity by municipality, city, district, province and region.
