Bayog BHWs attend communication workshop

BAYOG, Zamboanga del Sur July 26 (PIA) –- The local government unit of Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur in partnership with the USAID Philippines spearheaded in the conduct of a one-day Interpersonal Communication and Counseling Skills training for Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) on Thursday (July 21,2011) at the Municipal Health Center of said town.
The skills training workshop was participated by 49 BHWs of the 28 barangays of the said municipality. The activity was facilitated by Jersam Calago, Health Pro-Pagadian City, Marites Acenas of the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), with Dr. Gretchen Dubric, Betty Jane Liguan and Marlene Ulgasan of the Municipal Health Office.
The workshop is a project of USAID Philippines to assist selected local government units through the Department of Health and other related agencies in enabling and sustaining healthy practices through access to quality health information. (JPA/ CAL /BAG/ PIA9 Zambo Sur)
