BUSINESS IMPROVED, EQUITABLE ECONOMIC GROWTH

Promotes equitable economic growth, and opportunities for broad participation in such growth and its benefits.

  • Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM)
    Expands economic opportunities for all people in Mindanao by:
    • Strengthening business support organizations to enable them to provide services to their members
    • Expanding the production and marketing of high-value commodities
    • Constructing approximately 700 small and medium-scale infrastructure projects
    • Improving governance and education in the ARMM
    • Improving the investment and business climate in Mindanao through policy modification.

  • Targeted Intervention in Economic Reform and Growth (TIERG)
    Funds policy development expertise on a national basis and also in areas vital to Mindanao's economy, e.g., ports and shipping, customs, local government, biotechnology, and anti-Corruption.

  • Microenterprise Access to Banking Services (MABS-M )
    Assists Rural Banks throughout Mindanao to develop the capability to profitably provide loans and deposit services to microenterprises. Collectively, the participating banks have provided loans to about 150,000 new micro-borrowers .
